Holcim Romania in collaboration with ecovalor organized an “Open-Door Day” for children of their employees, which was held on 12 June 2010 in Alesd. The event was especially devoted to the safety topic, and the message of this event was clear: your safety is your family safety – with respecting the OH&S rules you protect your own family.
About 130 kids created groups comprising 30 members each. The organisers arranged an interesting and varied programme for children. It started with a visit to the training centre, where the kids were pleased to watch and work with different work tools and machines. After that, every group could see a demonstration of working at height, as well as a presentation on the personal protective equipment and safety devices. Fire fighting demonstration was one of the highlights for children.
Besides educational programme, a buffoon, cakes, sports games, face painting and asphalt drawing were also there to entertain the children. They also enjoyed wearing the helmets and protective glasses as they parents do at work. The event was very successful and the idea of safety became even more obvious when seeing each other with our children in company premises.
The same event for children was also organized in Campulung.
